Is the PACE 4 more accurate than the PACE 3?

Both watches support All Systems and Dual Frequency satellite tracking. The PACE 4 has updated satellite and optical heart rate hardware, which may provide faster GPS acquisition and more consistent readings in some conditions. Accuracy can still vary with location, watch fit, signal conditions, and activity type.

Do the COROS PACE 3 and PACE 4 have offline maps?

No. Both watches use breadcrumb navigation rather than detailed offline maps. They can follow imported routes and provide deviation alerts, elevation profiles, checkpoints, Back to Start, and turn-by-turn prompts on supported routes.

Can both watches play music without a phone?

Yes. You can transfer MP3 files to either watch and listen through compatible Bluetooth earbuds or headphones without carrying a phone. Neither watch supports direct Spotify or Apple Music downloads. Both can also control compatible media playing on a connected phone.

Do the PACE 3 and PACE 4 require a phone or paid subscription?

A compatible smartphone is required for initial setup, syncing, firmware updates, and some connected features. After setup, either watch can record a run without the phone nearby. COROS does not require a paid subscription for its core app, training plans, recovery metrics, or Training Hub.

Should PACE 3 owners upgrade to the PACE 4?

Not necessarily. The PACE 3 already provides the essential COROS training experience and remains a capable running watch. Upgrading makes the most sense if you want the AMOLED display, longer advanced GPS battery life, updated sensors, faster controls, or voice features.
